Choosing the perfect name for your baby is without any doubt a very exciting but also one of the very challenging parts of becoming a parent. There are so many things to consider. But most important is that you love the name.
Here are a few tips and tricks on how to choose the perfect name for your new baby:
- Start with a list. Write down any name you come across that you like. Compare lists with your parnter and eliminate all names you feel negative about.
- Talk about the name. Get a feeling for it how it would sound. Get opinions of other people. But don't let them decide..
- Make the "playground test". Call the name out loud at the playground or in the backyard. If it feels funny and weird, take an other name!
- Spell it out. If you choose a creative spelling for your babies name, he or she will have to correct it throughout his or her life. Make it easy for your child!
- Don't forget to look up the meaning of your favourite name.
