Baby tired signs
How do I know if my baby is tired? That is a question that many new parents ask themself. It is important for parents to learn to read their baby's unique way of saying "I'm tired and I want to sleep now". Otherwise babies might get overtired and it will get more and more difficult to put them to sleep.
Be guided by your baby's tired signs, these may be:
Babies up to 4 months:
- grizzling
- frowning
- jerky movements
- turn head away from you
- fists more clenched
Babies from about 5 months:
- grizzling
- yawning
- rubbing eyes
- pulling at ears
Some babies have one unsettled period each day, which is called "the witching hour". This is often from one feed to the next and is most common in the evening.
One average, babies up to 6 months old will have one unsettled day each week.
